Cistus x purpureus 3L

A small evergreen rounded shrub with upright sticky red shoots, and dark green wavy edged leaves. In summer it produces numerous large rosy crimson flowers with a maroon basal blotch and contrasting yellow stamens. Hardy but requires good drainage, tolerates chalk well and is excellent on a dry sunny bank.
