Prunus serr. ‘Shirotae’

A moderate grower attaining a height of 6m with a broad flattened vase shaped crown. The elongated deeply serrated leaves emerge light green turning deeper in summer with a good yellow autumn colour. Large double sometimes semi-double to single white flowers with an almond scent are bourne in late April early May and last for a few weeks. Hardy it tolerates all soils except waterlogged soils, mix plenty of good compost with the soil and stake well.
