A remarkable tree to 7m forming a dense oval to rounded crown. Numerous single pink flowers are bourne in March/April before or with the leaves. The leaves are up to 8cm and dark reddish-brown holding their colour late into the season. The dark red fruits are seldom bourne. Hardy with good wind resistance, requires a fertile moist soil. Mix plenty of good compost with the soil and stake well.
