Malus trilobata*

Malus trilobata*

A comparatively rare tree erect in habit and good where space is limited growing to around 10m. The leaves are deeply lobed and maple like, tinted red in autumn and remain on the tree for a long period. Large white flowers are borne in May followed by green fruits often flushed red in warm summers. This is a superb tree for amenity planting. Hardy requires a free draining fertile soil, mix plenty of good compost with the soil and stake well.
