Amelanchier ‘Ballerina’

A large shrub or small tree to 6m producing a vase shaped crown. In spring it bears profuse racemes of white flowers the leaves are bronze when young turning green and red to purple in autumn. It bears sweet juicy edible red fruit in late july which turn to black when ripe. Hardy and tolerant of most soils except wet soils. Mix a good compost with the soil and stake well.
